This piece began with the real fish itself. We personally performed the traditional Japanese art of gyotaku, carefully inking the mahi and creating the original fish impression by hand. Every scale, fin ray, contour, and natural imperfection captured in the print comes directly from the fish, making the artwork a true one-of-a-kind impression rather than a digitally created fish illustration.

The original gyotaku has been professionally presented on a subtle Japanese rice-paper-inspired background, preserving the organic character and texture of the hand-pulled print. The elegant handwritten “Mahi” signature and signature red Inked Fin Co. stamp complete the piece while maintaining its clean, authentic coastal aesthetic.
